‘Master Creation 2’ Showcases India’s Finest Handicrafts at Dilli Haat, Secretary Neelam Shami Rao Visits Exhibition

From live craft demos to cultural performances, “Master Creation 2” highlights India’s diverse artisanal heritage and boosts market linkages.

New Delhi, December 5, 2025: The Ministry of Textiles, through the Office of the Development Commissioner (Handicrafts), has launched “Master Creation 2”, a vibrant handicrafts showcase taking place from December 1 to 15, 2025 at Dilli Haat, INA. The event brings together some of India’s most celebrated artisans—Padma Shri awardees, Shilp Gurus, Sant Kabir Award recipients, National Awardees, and other distinguished craft experts from across the country.

Textiles Secretary  Neelam Shami Rao visited the exhibition on Friday, where she was welcomed by Smt Amrit Raj, Development Commissioner (Handicrafts), and Dr. M. Beena, Development Commissioner (Handloom). During her visit, she interacted with artisans and weavers exhibiting at the venue, discussing their challenges, wellbeing, and aspirations. She encouraged participants to embrace entrepreneurship, strengthen their digital presence, and explore new market opportunities. She also commended their commitment to empowering women artisans and fostering economic independence through craft.

“Master Creation 2” brings under one roof a wide range of traditional and contemporary craft forms—textiles, metalwork, wood and stone carving, terracotta, pottery, natural fiber creations, cane and bamboo crafts, leatherwork, jewelry, and several GI-tagged products. Visitors can engage with artisans, observe their creative processes, and deepen their understanding of India’s diverse craft traditions.

A major attraction of the event is the live craft demonstrations, where master craftspersons showcase techniques honed over generations. These sessions not only highlight their exceptional skills but also promote craft sustainability and support artisan livelihoods by giving them direct market exposure.

Adding cultural richness to the programme are daily performances representing India’s varied performing arts, creating a dynamic blend of craft, culture, and community engagement. The exhibition also aims to boost craft tourism, expand market linkages, and connect artisans directly with customers, designers, exporters, and enthusiasts.

Special events, including a dedicated cultural evening, will celebrate performing traditions and highlight sustainable craft practices and indigenous skills.

The Ministry has invited media, buyers, craft lovers, and the public to visit the exhibition and experience the depth and diversity of India’s artistic heritage.
