Modi government’s economic policies have strengthened India’s rise: Union Minister Krishan Pal Gurjar

From GST reforms to price relief on essentials, Union Minister says Atmanirbhar Bharat and Swadeshi are keys to India’s progress

Faridabad: Union Minister of State Krishan Pal Gurjar addressed a press conference at the BJP district office ‘Atal Kamal’, highlighting the Modi government’s economic achievements, GST reforms, and the vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat. He said the government has given relief “from kitchen to car,” reducing tax burdens by scrapping the 28%, 18% and 12% slabs and introducing only 18% and 5% slabs, with many items made tax-free. Medicines, milk, curd, paneer, refrigerators, air conditioners, televisions, and other goods have become cheaper, while life and health insurance premiums are down by 15–18% after GST removal.

Krishan Pal Gurjar described GST reforms as a Diwali gift to citizens, calling them historic and revolutionary. He said these reforms dismantled the Congress-era exploitation system and empowered common people, traders, and industrialists.

“India has become the world’s fourth-largest economy under Prime Minister Modi despite global challenges,” he noted, adding that the simplified tax regime will increase purchasing power, reduce daily expenses, make healthcare affordable, and improve the ease of doing business.

On broader issues, Union Minister asserted: “The solution to all of India’s problems lies in Atmanirbhar Bharat. Swadeshi is the mantra that will make the nation self-reliant.” He stressed that Prime Minister Modi has called on all 140 crore citizens to adopt Swadeshi, which he termed a milestone toward self-reliance. Responding to media questions, Union Minister recalled that before GST, India had more than a dozen taxes, with rates as high as 30–40% on items from cement to pencils.

“Today, One Nation, One Tax has become a reality. The opposition once mocked GST as ‘Gabbar Singh Tax’, but now they have nothing left to say,” he remarked. He also criticized the Congress for linking every issue to elections and votes. “Abusing the Prime Minister and even his mother shows Congress’s frustration,” he said, adding that the BJP has completed 11 years in power while Congress, after ruling for 70 years, failed to deliver. On Bihar elections, he expressed confidence that the NDA will secure victory.

The press conference was attended by former Education Minister Seema Trikha, BJP District President Pankaj Poojan Rampal, District General Secretary Chaudhary Praveen Garg, Shobhit Arora, District Media Incharge Vinod Gupta, Next-Gen GST Reforms District Convenor D.C. Garg, Co-Convenor Harish Mangla, Office Secretary Raj Madan, and District Spokesperson Abhas Aggarwal and many other dignitaries.
