Indian Railways Launches Two New Trains to Boost Gujarat Connectivity

New Delhi, May 25, 2025 –Indian Railways has announced the launch of two new express trains aimed at enhancing rail connectivity and improving passenger convenience within Gujarat. As part of this initiative, a new Vande Bharat Express service between Sabarmati and Veraval has been introduced. This train, numbered 26901/26902, will operate six days a week, excluding Thursdays. It will depart from Sabarmati station at 5:25 AM and reach Veraval at 12:25 PM, with scheduled halts at Chandlodia, Viramgam, Rajkot, and Junagadh. The return service will leave Veraval at 2:40 PM and arrive at Sabarmati at 9:35 PM. Chandlodia station, which is currently undergoing redevelopment under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme, is expected to serve as a regular commercial halt once the upgrades are completed.

In addition to the Vande Bharat service, Indian Railways has also introduced a new daily express train between Valsad and Dahod. Train number 19011 will depart from Valsad at 5:15 AM and reach Dahod at 11:05 AM, passing through key stations including Bilimora, Navsari, Surat, Vadodara, and Godhra. The return train, numbered 19012, will depart from Dahod at 11:55 AM and arrive in Valsad at 8:05 PM. The train composition includes 17 coaches—comprising one Executive Class coach, four Third AC coaches, and ten Second Class coaches—along with two guard-cum-parcel vans, one of which is equipped with seating facilities for differently-abled passengers.

Both trains will be virtually flagged off by the Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi during a special program organised in Dahod. These new services are part of Indian Railways’ continued efforts to modernise its network and provide efficient and comfortable travel options to the public.
