Faridabad – The 5th Haryana State Finswimming Championship 2025 concluded successfully, with Faridabad emerging as the Overall Team Champion and Ambala securing the Runner-Up Trophy. The opening ceremony, held on July 19, witnessed enthusiastic participation from young finswimmers across 13 districts of Haryana.

The event was inaugurated in the presence of Mr. Deep Bhatia, President of the Underwater Sports Association of Haryana, and Mr. Suprakash Adhikari, Director (Technical), NHPC, Faridabad. Finswimmers, coaches, and technical officials from across the state participated in the grand sporting occasion.

Mr. A.K. Pandit, General Secretary of the Association, informed that teams from Ambala, Sirsa, Panipat, Palwal, Bhiwani, Gurugram, Sonipat, Kurukshetra, Hisar, Charkhi Dadri, Jhajjar, and Faridabad showcased their talent and competitive spirit in multiple age categories. Events such as Bi-Fins drew significant excitement among participants and spectators alike.

The Chief Guest for the championship, Rajesh Nagar, Minister of Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs, Government of Haryana, presented the championship trophy to the winners. He appreciated the efforts of all participants and encouraged continued involvement in underwater sports.

Speaking on the occasion, Deep Bhatia lauded the energy and commitment of the young athletes. “Such championships not only build competitive spirit but also instill confidence and discipline among our youth. Haryana is proud of its emerging talents in underwater sports,” he said.

The event stood as a testament to the growing popularity of finswimming in Haryana and highlighted the state’s commitment to nurturing aquatic sports and young athletes.
