Faridabad: A property dealer, Manoj Kumar (42), was fatally run over by a Mahindra Thar in Sector 12, Faridabad, early Monday morning after a road rage incident, police said. Manoj had been out for dinner with friends when an altercation arose over reckless driving by occupants of the SUV.

Four individuals have been detained for questioning, including the son of Faridabad ACP Rajesh Kumar Lohan, whose driver allegedly took the vehicle that night. Investigations are ongoing to determine who was driving at the time of the incident.
According to police, Manoj’s friends confronted the Thar after noticing rash driving, and during the ensuing altercation, the SUV struck Manoj, who was later declared dead at a private hospital in Sector 16. The family accused authorities of attempting to shield the accused, prompting the police to register a murder case following initial FIR under Section 105 (culpable homicide not amounting to murder).

Faridabad Deputy Commissioner of Police (Central) Usha Devi confirmed that all four suspects are being questioned to ascertain details of the incident. The victim’s family refused to accept the body initially, highlighting tensions surrounding the case.
