Faridabad: In a major breakthrough, Faridabad Police have solved a robbery case involving Rs. 25 lakh within 24 hours and arrested three accused. Acting under the directives of Police Commissioner Satendra Kumar Gupta, the crime branch team tightened its grip on criminal elements and successfully apprehended the culprits. A total of Rs.21 lakh and two motorcycles used in the crime have been recovered.
During the press conference, ACP Crime-II Varun Kumar Dahiya informed that complainant Rohit Kansal, a resident of MVN Athens Society near Sihi Gate, Ballabhgarh, and working as a CA in a private limited company, reported the incident to police. On November 24, while returning home on his scooter from Sohna Road Sector 25, he was carrying Rs.25,33,000 in a bag. Around 6 pm, near Community Bhawan Sihi Gate, three men on a motorcycle faces covered intercepted him, pushed him, assaulted him and threatened him with a sharp weapon before fleeing with the cash.
A loot case was registered at City Police Station, Ballabhgarh. The arrested accused have been identified as Naveen (son of Kishan Chand), Abhishek alias Abhi (son of Lakhmichand) and Abhishek (son of Rajbir), all residents of Nariyala village under Chhainsa police station. They were arrested on November 25 with the help of technical surveillance. Investigation revealed that Naveen was the mastermind and knew that the complainant handled cash transactions for the company.
Aware that Rohit would be carrying a large sum on November 24, Naveen plotted the robbery along with four friends. On the evening of the incident, the accused executed the plan in darkness near Sihi Gate. Naveen and the complainant knew each other, and he conducted recce on a second motorcycle with another accomplice, while Abhishek alias Abhi, Abhishek (son of Rajbir), and one more person executed the cash robbery.
Police have recovered Rs.21 lakh from the accused along with two motorcycles used in the crime. Naveen has been taken on two-day police remand, while the other two accused will be sent to jail. Faridabad Police have reiterated their commitment to taking strict action against criminals and safeguarding the public from organised crime.
