Faridabad Horror: 17-Year-Old Girl Shot Twice By Stalker While Returning From Coaching Class

CCTV Footage Captures Attacker Waiting In Alley Before Firing Two Shots

Faridabad, November 4, 2025: A horrifying case of stalking turned violent in Haryana’s Faridabad, where a 17-year-old girl was shot twice by an alleged stalker while returning home from her coaching class in Ballabhgarh’s Shyam Colony on Monday evening. The girl, who sustained bullet injuries to her shoulder and abdomen, is currently undergoing treatment at a local hospital.

According to police, the accused — identified as Jatin Mangla — had been following the teenager for several days and allegedly opened fire after she rejected his advances. CCTV footage from the incident shows the accused waiting in a narrow alley with a motorcycle and a bag, appearing to conceal a weapon.

Moments later, as the victim enters the frame with her two friends, Jatin crosses the lane and opens fire. In panic, the two girls accompanying the victim run for safety while the 17-year-old collapses after being hit twice. The attacker then flees the scene on his motorcycle.

Police officials confirmed that the weapon used in the attack has been recovered. “Preliminary investigation suggests that the accused was known to the victim. The girl identified him in her statement. A case has been registered, and multiple teams are conducting raids to arrest the culprit,” said a police spokesperson.

The victim’s sister told reporters that the teenager was preparing for her board exams and took the same route to coaching every day. “He had been stalking her. His family had apologized earlier, so we didn’t file a complaint. But the very next day, this tragedy happened,” she said tearfully.

The family alleged that Jatin had aimed for the victim’s heart, but she instinctively raised her hand to protect herself — resulting in a bullet piercing her hand and shoulder instead. “We trusted his family’s promise, and now we regret it. What kind of safety do girls have when stalkers can shoot them just a kilometre away from home?” her sister added.

Authorities have appealed to the public to share any information about the accused’s whereabouts. The shocking CCTV footage has sparked outrage across social media, raising renewed questions about women’s safety in urban Haryana.
