Awadhpuri Resonates with ‘Om Namah Shivaya,’ ‘Bijli Mahadev Mandir’ Declared ‘Best Documentary’

Media students from J.C. Bose University shine at the Awadh Chitra Sadhana Film Festival

Faridabad, December 3, 2024: The media department students of J.C. Bose University YMCA have brought national pride to their institution with their exemplary achievement. Their documentary film, Bijli Mahadev Mandir, was awarded the ‘Best Documentary’ at the prestigious Awadh Chitra Sadhana Film Festival. The event, held at Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar University, Lucknow, showcased over 100 films from across the country. The documentary, highlighting the unique cultural heritage of Himachal Pradesh, was lauded for its in-depth research, creativity, and impactful presentation. The winners were honored with trophies and cash prizes. Expressing his delight, Vice-Chancellor Prof.Sushil Kumar Tomar congratulated the students upon seeing the trophy. He commended their hard work, dedication, and creativity, wishing them a bright future and encouraging them to achieve greater heights.
Prof. Tomar stated, “This accomplishment is a matter of pride for the university. Students must continue honing their talents.” Dr.Pawan Singh, Head of the Department of Communication and Media Technology, applauded the team, remarking that this success highlights the students’ skills and commitment to the art of filmmaking. He emphasized that such achievements not only meet industry standards but also contribute to shaping competent professionals. He added, “This success is not merely an award but evidence of the department’s commitment and creativity. It will inspire not only the winning students but also their peers.”
Production Team members Senior Instructor Dushyant Tyagi, production assistants Pankaj Saini, Yogesh Chaudhary and Anju Singh played crucial roles in guiding the students.They provided technical knowledge and inspired creative thinking, shaping the documentary into an excellent piece of art. The documentary on Himachal Pradesh’s cultural gem, Bijli Mahadev Mandir, was skillfully crafted by journalism students Dhiren Singh (Director), Hemant Sharma, Kanishka Mishra, Vistrit Gupta and Bhawna Kumar.
