Palwal: The opening ceremony of the much-anticipated District Badminton Championship took place on Saturday at the Riders Badminton Academy, Palwal. The tournament was formally inaugurated by Dr. Prashant Gupta, Director of KC Path Lab and founder of Apna Blood Bank. He encouraged the players to maintain true sportsmanship and adhere to all the rules during their matches.
Om Prakash Gupta, President of Vaishya Aggarwal Sabha, Palwal, graced the event as the special guest and extended his blessings to the participants. He expressed pride in the continuous development of badminton in the region.

Alka Gupta, President of the District Badminton Association, welcomed the esteemed guests with symbolic plants representing happiness and prosperity, and inspired the players to deliver their best performances. Yashpal Mangla, Secretary of the District Badminton Association, extended his gratitude to the media personnel and all present guests. Joint Secretary Shubhankit Gupta also motivated the players during the opening.

The championship will be held over two days July 5 and 6 and will feature over 100 players competing across various age groups: Under-11, 13, 15, 17, and 19 categories for both boys and girls, as well as men’s, women’s, and 35+ age group categories. Events will include singles, doubles, and mixed doubles.
Ravi and Little will serve as referees for the tournament, supported by Lakshya, Rohan, and Aman on technical duties.
The winners and runners-up of the tournament will go on to represent Palwal in the Haryana State Badminton Championships scheduled for August and September.

Dr. Amit Gupta, Vice President of the Association, congratulated all the players, while other prominent association members including Dr. Novak Jindal, Ajay Arora, Anup Parashar, Yashpal Mangla, Neeraj Mittal, and Shubhankit Gupta were also present, along with many parents of the participating players.
The event began with an oath ceremony led by stage anchor Khushboo Mittal and concluded with the national anthem, marking a spirited start to a promising tournament.
