New Delhi : A grand Pipping Ceremony was held today at Adarsh Auditorium, Police Headquarters, Delhi, where 111 police personnel were conferred with honorary ranks on the day of their retirement. The event was presided over by Satish Golchha, IPS, Commissioner of Police, Delhi, who, alongwith senior officers, pipped the retiring personnel ranging from Constable to Sub-Inspector with the badges of their next higher honorary rank.

This ceremony was the second such event under the Honorary Rank Promotion Scheme for Delhi Police personnel. The inaugural ceremony was held on 31st December 2025, following the approval accorded by Vinai Kumar Saxena, Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor of Delhi, for granting honorary promotions to personnel from the rank of Constable up to Sub-Inspector.
The programme commenced with a welcome address by Robin Hibu, IPS, Spl. CP/HRD, who warmly welcomed the Chief Guest and provided an overview of the initiative and the ceremony.

Speaking on the occasion, the Commissioner of Police, Delhi, thanked Ministry of Home Affairs and the Hon’ble LG Delhi for approving the Honorary Rank Promotion Scheme. He lauded the retiring personnel for their valuable contributions to the department and society, commending them for serving with same zeal until their final day in service. He also extended his heartfelt best wishes for a fulfilling and healthy post-retirement life. The CP Delhi also appreciated the efforts made by Robin Hibu, IPS, Spl. CP/HRD; Ms. Suman Goyal, IPS, Jt. CP/HQ; Sanjay Bhatia, IPS, Addl. CP/Personnel; Rakesh Paweria, DCP/HQ-IV and the officers and staff at Police Headquarters.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Ms. Suman Goyal, IPS, Jt. CP/HQ.
Senior officers of Delhi Police, the retiring personnel, and their family members attended the ceremony, making it a memorable occasion that honoured years of dedicated service.
