New Delhi : The Delhi Police Crime Branch conducted its second advanced training session for Inspectors and Assistant Commissioners of Police on 6 December 2025 at the Adarsh Auditorium, Police Headquarters. Held from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM, the capacity-building programme was attended by over 250 officers, reflecting the department’s continued commitment to strengthening investigative excellence through technology-driven policing.
The session focused on enhancing the quality and speed of investigations, ensuring timely disposal of pending matters, and enabling seamless use of national digital portals and police-level databases to streamline processes.
Officers were trained in using “Crime Kundli,” a biometric-enabled integrated profiling system that links offenders across cases, builds comprehensive criminal histories, and helps trace repeat offenders. The tool ensures clarity in case-linkage and prevents duplication of investigative efforts.
Detailed guidance was provided on prioritising live cases, preparing action plans, and ensuring that cognizable cases are disposed of within prescribed timelines—60 or 90 days as applicable—helping reduce pendency and strengthen prosecution outcomes.
The session included an in-depth briefing on NIDAAN, a first-of-its-kind national database created by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB). Integrated with the Inter-Operable Criminal Justice System (ICJS) and the e-Prisons platform, NIDAAN enables quick verification of previous narcotics records, identification of habitual offenders, and coordinated action between agencies.

MANAS Portal / National Narcotics Helpline: Incorporating citizen inputs and helpline data into enforcement workflows.
CEIR (Central Equipment Identity Register): Blocking or tracing IMEI-linked mobile phones in theft, extortion, and cyber-enabled crimes.
NAFIS (National Automated Fingerprint Identification System): Supporting fingerprint-based identification and interstate offender linkage.
Zero FIR Registration: Reinforcing early registration of cognizable complaints irrespective of jurisdiction.
eSakshya: Uploading scene-of-crime videos, statements, and seizure footage directly to FIRs to ensure robust documentation and chain of custody.

The session emphasised cross-portal interoperability, timely data uploads, quality checks, and strengthened inter-agency coordination to ensure that digital intelligence translates into actionable results, arrests, and higher conviction rates.
This training reflects Delhi Police’s sustained efforts to upgrade investigative protocols, adopt modern digital tools, and bolster enforcement against crimes—including drug-related offences—for more effective service delivery.
