New Delhi – At an event held at Adarsh Auditorium, PHQ, today, Vinai Kumar Saxena, LG, Delhi in the presence of Satish Golchha, IPS, Commissioner of Police, Delhi and Senior Officers of Delhi Police, felicitated the Good Samaritans from both police zones of Delhi and also returned lost/stolen mobile phones to their rightful owners from all 15 police districts of Delhi and also motivated police personnel for their efforts in recovering the mobile phones.

In a major initiative to provide relief to individuals affected by the loss or theft of their mobile phones, 6432 mobile phones have been recovered by Delhi Police in the year 2025 and 3589 have already been handed over to their rightful owners. Today, a total 1559 mobile phones were returned to their rightful owners. This reflects Delhi Police’s commitment of not only recovering the mobile phones but also returning it to their rightful owner after proper verifications. Such efforts bring joy to common citizen and restore faith in police force as loss of a mobile phone is not only a financial loss but it also poses risk of data theft and personal information breach.

Delhi Police has been actively recognizing and rewarding good Samaritans who have demonstrated extraordinary bravery and acts of kindness in various situations. The Chief Guest, Hon’ble LG Delhi today felicitated 13 Good Samaritans including 3 women, in recognition of their bravery and compassion, inspiring others with their example. The selfless and brave acts by the Good Samaritans have helped in apprehending the criminals involved in crime incidents on many occasions. The felicitation of the Good Samaritans is a continuation of Delhi Police’s practice of appreciating selfless acts.

The Chief Guest also felicitated 22 police officers for their efforts in recovery of a large number of mobile phones. Their consistent hard work, coordinated efforts and professionalism has brought a significant success against street crime and has also resulted in restoring the valuable property of the citizens.

Devesh Chandra Srivastva, IPS, Spl. CP/Crime gave a detailed presentation on the process of mobile phone recovery and CEIR Portal (Central Equipment Identity Register).
