On Guru Purnima, Haryana CM Urges Citizens to Plant Trees and Follow the Path of Gurus

Nayab Singh Saini pays tributes at Divya Jyoti Jagriti Sansthan, Baba Mohan Dass Ashram, and Dera Sachkhand Ballan; promotes ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ campaign

Jalandhar (Punjab), July 10, 2025 — On the auspicious occasion of Guru Purnima, Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini visited several revered spiritual institutions in Jalandhar, calling upon citizens to express gratitude to their Gurus not just through reverence but through action — by planting trees for a healthier, greener future.

Accompanied by Union Minister of State for Railways  Ravneet Singh Bittu, the Chief Minister first arrived at the Divya Jyoti Jagriti Sansthan in Nur Mahal, where he paid floral tributes to  Ashutosh Maharaj Ji and sought blessings at the Guru Purnima event.

“This sacred day reminds us to be thankful to our Gurus who illuminate our lives with the light of knowledge and guide us towards righteous living,” CM Saini said.

He also visited the Kamdhenu Gaushala within the Sansthan premises, performed Gau Poojan, and actively participated in Gau Seva.

In his address, the Chief Minister gave a heartfelt message:

“We must take a pledge today — under the Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam campaign — that each of us will plant a tree. As pollution rises and dependency on air conditioners increases, only nature can heal us. Let us honour our Gurus not just with rituals, but by protecting the environment they cherished.”

CM Saini also paid his respects at the Baba Mohan Dass Ashram and expressed long-standing spiritual ties with Baba Mohan Dass Ji Maharaj. He then visited Dera Sachkhand Ballan, where he paid obeisance to the teachings of Guru Ravidass Ji, whose message of equality, peace, and social harmony continues to inspire millions.

The CM appreciated the Dera’s work in education, health, and community upliftment, assuring government support for all constructive and spiritual initiatives.

On his way to the events, the Chief Minister made an impromptu stop in Jamsher village, stepping out of his vehicle to interact with local shopkeepers and residents. The villagers shared their concerns and were delighted by the unexpected visit and the CM’s warm gestures.
