Faridabad, 18 November, 2023– In a significant development, Dr. Ajay Tiwari, the National President of the Bharatya Pravashi Parishad, has leveled serious allegations against the political parties in the state of Haryana. He claims that for several years, migrants from Purvanchal and other regions have been overlooked, especially during the Chhath Mahaparva festival. Dr. Tiwari asserted that a one-day holiday for Chhath Mahaparva, government assistance in cleaning Chhath Ghats, and a special train from Faridabad to Gorakhpur, Siwan, and Chhapra have been demanded, but neither the current government’s Chief Minister nor the previous government or opposition has paid heed to these demands.
Highlighting the plight of 65-70% migrants residing in Faridabad, Gurugram, Sonipat, Panipat, Hisar, and Ambala, Dr. Tiwari expressed concerns over issues such as sexual assault, murder, land grabbing, and physical violence. He criticized the administration for practicing discrimination, which is detrimental to social harmony. Even as Prime Minister Narendra Modi has announced the creation of migrant labor cards for the welfare of migrant workers, Dr. Tiwari lamented the lack of appropriate support from state governments.
Dr. Ajay Tiwari has appealed to political parties for prompt attention and action on these matters concerning social harmony and support for migrants.
