State Sets Ambitious Targets for Investment, Employment and Industrial Expansion Under Chief Minister’s Vision

Patna, 6 April 2026 : Bihar’s industrial landscape is witnessing significant progress as the Department of Industries presented its key accomplishments for the financial year 2025–26. Addressing a press conference at the auditorium of the Information and Public Relations Department, Hon’ble Minister for Industries Dr. Dilip Kumar Jaiswal emphasized the State Government’s focus on transforming Bihar into a leading industrial hub in Eastern India. Secretary of Industries Shri Kundan Kumar and Managing Director of BIADA and IDA were also present.

Dr. Jaiswal highlighted that under the Chief Minister’s guidance, Bihar is steadily building an investor-friendly ecosystem backed by good governance and policy stability. The Government has undertaken robust measures to attract investments totaling ₹50 lakh crore and create one crore employment opportunities over the next five years. Expansion of expressway networks, industrial corridors, modern townships, improved air connectivity, and enhanced logistics systems are driving the State’s industrial transformation.

The Department showcased major policy initiatives including the launch of the Bihar Industrial Investment Promotion Policy 2025 and the Bihar Semiconductor Policy 2026 to establish the State as a technology and innovation hub. Sector-specific strategies for logistics, exports, textiles, leather, and startups have further strengthened the industrial framework.

Investor engagement activities, including roadshows in Thailand, Bengaluru, Kolkata, New Delhi, and Mumbai, resulted in 747 proposals worth over ₹17,217 crore. Land allotments and project approvals are providing immediate employment opportunities to more than 22,500 people. Reforms under the National Single Window System and the Jan Vishwas Act are improving ease of doing business, while labour reforms and extended working hours for women are promoting inclusive industrial growth.

Significant industrial projects include the Integrated Manufacturing City in Gaya, a textile cluster in Muzaffarpur, Mega Food Park at Damodarpur, a multi-modal logistics park, and the proposed Fintech City at Fatuha. Development of women’s hostels, Khadi Malls, and PPP initiatives like five-star hotels and electronic parks are strengthening urban-industrial infrastructure.

 Entrepreneurship and startups received a boost with 109 new registrations, ₹92.2 crore disbursed, and 242 women-led startups supported. Schemes like Mukhyamantri Udyami Yojana, PMEGP, and PMFME have extended financial assistance worth thousands of crores to tens of thousands of beneficiaries. Traditional industries such as handloom, silk, Khadi, and rural crafts are also being promoted through targeted support and market access initiatives.

Dr. Jaiswal concluded that Bihar is moving from planning to execution with clear strategies to position itself as a top investment destination. The State Government remains committed to inclusive, sustainable, and future-ready industrial growth that empowers local communities and strengthens the overall economy.
