Patna/Begusarai/Siwan, January 28- Panic spread across Bihar on Tuesday after several civil courts, including those in Siwan, Begusarai, Bhagalpur, and Muzaffarpur, received bomb threats. Following the alerts, court premises were immediately evacuated as a precautionary measure.
Principal District and Sessions Judge of Begusarai, Rishikant, confirmed that the threat was sent via the court’s official email. Acting on the instructions of the District Judge, all judicial officers, staff, and advocates were advised to remain in safe locations until further notice.
The general public was also barred from entering the court buildings, which were temporarily sealed. Additional security measures were taken due to the proximity of the Collectorate and Judges’ Colony to the Begusarai Civil Court.
In Siwan, a similar bomb threat led to a full-scale security operation. Police cordoned off the premises and conducted thorough searches, while lawyers were advised to stay away.
The District Bar Association appealed to all lawyers to refrain from visiting the courts until the situation was resolved. Multiple police teams, along with the bomb squad, remain on high alert, and technical investigations are underway to trace the origin of the threatening emails.
So far, no suspicious objects have been found at any of the court premises. Police officials have urged the public to remain calm, ignore rumors, and cooperate with authorities as the investigation continues.
