Faridabad: Transforming a personal celebration into a meaningful initiative, Meenu Banga, a prominent member of the reputed industrialist Banga family and an active social worker, celebrated her birthday with children living in the slum area beneath Neelam Flyover. On this occasion, a free health check-up camp was organized in collaboration with Victoria Life Foundation and Lakshyam NGO, benefiting over 100 children with medical examinations and essential health consultations.
The health camp was led by senior physician Dr. Charu from Amrita Hospital, along with a dedicated team of doctors. In addition to health checkups, the team distributed free medicines to those in need, ensuring immediate relief and care.
The event was graced by the presence of Municipal Corporation Mayor Dr. Praveen Batra Joshi as the chief guest. Other dignitaries in attendance included industrialists S.S. Banga, Daman Banga, Satbir Banga, former BJP District President Rajkumar Vohra, India’s first female blade runner Kiran Kanojia, Lakshyam NGO founder Rashi Anand, and senior advisor to the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Pankaj Mishra. All guests celebrated by cutting a cake with the children and distributing sweets and gifts.
The event also marked the official launch of the ‘Butterfly Project’, a joint initiative by Victoria Life Foundation and Lakshyam. The project aims to empower underprivileged children living in slum areas by providing early education, career guidance, and personality development, enabling them to become self-reliant and aware citizens.
Speaking on the occasion, industrialist S.S. Banga said, “True happiness lies in sharing our joy with the underprivileged. The smiles of these children are the greatest gift to us.”
Meenu Banga added, “If every birthday is dedicated to helping someone in need, it can spark a positive transformation in society.”
Mayor Dr. Praveen Batra Joshi remarked, “Education and health are the two most vital foundations of a child’s life. Efforts like these not only uplift individual lives but also guide society in a positive direction. The Banga family and partnering organizations deserve heartfelt appreciation.”
