Ben Dwarshuis Leads Australia to 5-0 T20I Series Sweep Over West Indies

Basseterre [St. Lucia], July 29 :Australia completed a dominant 5-0 clean sweep over the West Indies in the T20I series, thanks to a match-winning bowling display by Ben Dwarshuis in the fifth and final match at Warner Park. Dwarshuis picked up three wickets for 41 runs in his four overs and was named Player of the Match.

Chasing 171, the Mitchell Marsh-led Australian side secured victory with 18 balls to spare and three wickets in hand. Key contributions came from Mitchell Owen (37 off 17), Cameron Green (32 off 18), Tim David (30 off 12), and Aaron Hardie (28* off 25). Green’s consistent performances throughout the series earned him the Player of the Series award.

West Indies, batting first after Marsh won the toss and chose to field, posted 170 in 19.4 overs. Shimron Hetmyer top-scored with 52 from 31 balls, followed by Sherfane Rutherford’s quickfire 35 off 17. Jason Holder added 20 runs from 15 deliveries.

Australia’s bowling unit remained tight and effective. Apart from Dwarshuis’ 3-fer, Nathan Ellis took 2 wickets for 32 runs, while Hardie, Sean Abbott, Glenn Maxwell, and Adam Zampa each picked one wicket.

Despite efforts from West Indies bowlers—Akeal Hosein (3/17), Alzarri Joseph (2/21), and Jason Holder (2/36)—the visitors comfortably chased down the target, showcasing their depth and dominance in white-ball cricket.
