Houston: The crew of Artemis II received an emotional welcome after safely returning to Earth, marking the end of their landmark journey around the Moon.
The four astronauts — Reid Wiseman, Victor Glover, Christina Koch and Jeremy Hansen — were greeted with applause and reunited with their families at NASA Johnson Space Center, following their 10-day deep-space mission.

Commander Reid Wiseman described the mission as an unforgettable chapter, highlighting the deep bond formed among the crew. He said the shared experience of traveling far beyond Earth created a connection that few could truly understand.
He also acknowledged the emotional challenge of being so far from home, noting that while space travel is a dream, the desire to return to loved ones becomes even stronger during the journey.

Victor Glover expressed overwhelming gratitude, saying the experience was difficult to put into words. He reflected on the privilege of witnessing space up close and credited both his fellow crew members and their families for their support throughout the mission.
Christina Koch spoke about the deeper meaning of teamwork, describing the crew as a unit bound by shared purpose, trust, and mutual support. She added that seeing Earth from space offered a powerful reminder of unity, calling the planet itself a “crew” that humanity must care for together.
Jeremy Hansen highlighted the emotional journey of the mission, sharing how the crew relied on positivity and resilience to navigate challenges. He described their shared “joy” as a key element in maintaining morale during the demanding expedition.
The astronauts also cherished moments of connecting with their families from space, which became a source of strength and emotional grounding during the mission.

The Artemis II mission serves as a crucial step toward future lunar exploration, including upcoming missions aimed at landing humans back on the Moon.
Officials noted that the success of this mission has not only advanced space exploration but also inspired a new generation to dream bigger and aim higher.
