New Delhi, July 21, 2025 – Apple’s upcoming iPad Pro M5 may feature a major camera redesign aimed at enhancing user experience in both portrait and landscape orientations. According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, the tech giant is reportedly planning to introduce two front-facing cameras in its next-generation iPad Pro lineup, marking a significant shift from the traditional single-camera setup.
Historically, all iPad models, including previous iPad Pro variants, have come equipped with just one front-facing camera used for video calls, Face ID authentication, and virtual meetings. However, with the M4 iPad Pro, Apple repositioned the front camera to the landscape edge — a move welcomed by landscape users but criticized by those who preferred the portrait orientation.
In response to diverse user feedback, Apple may now adopt a dual-camera system on the iPad Pro M5, allowing seamless switching based on device orientation. This means users could benefit from a front camera located on both the top bezel (portrait mode) and side bezel (landscape mode).
While specific technical details are still under wraps, sources suggest that Apple might implement intelligent camera activation, where the iPad dynamically selects which camera to use depending on how the user holds the device. Such a feature would enhance the overall video call experience on FaceTime, Zoom, and other conferencing apps.
In addition to the camera upgrade, the iPad Pro M5 is expected to debut with Apple’s M5-series chipset, making it one of the most powerful iPads to date. Although the iPad Pro M4 introduced a sleeker and thinner design with OLED displays, reports indicate that the M5 variant will likely retain the same form factor while focusing on internal improvements.
