New Delhi,9 April 2025– Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation, Shri Amit Shah, held a high-level meeting in New Delhi today to assess how Odisha is progressing in implementing the newly introduced criminal laws. Chief Minister Shri Mohan Charan Majhi was present along with top officials, including the Union Home Secretary, Odisha’s Chief Secretary and DGP, the heads of BPRD and NCRB, and senior representatives from the Ministry of Home Affairs and the Odisha government.
The review focused on the status of new legal provisions impacting the police, prison system, judiciary, prosecution, and forensic practices within the state.
During the session, Shri Amit Shah emphasized the need for full implementation of the new laws across all administrative levels within the next six months. He pointed out that this is a key period for Odisha, especially as it moves toward industrial and technological advancement, and strong legal reforms will be vital to support that growth.
