Amit Agrawal, Secretary, DoP reviews progress of Medical Devices Park at YEIDA Sector-28

Government targets completion of Common Scientific Facilities by 2026; Gamma Radiation Centre by 2027

Greater Noida : Secretary, Department of Pharmaceuticals, Government of India, Amit Agrawal, IAS, along with Joint Secretary Aman Sharma, visited the Medical Devices Park at Sector 28 under Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA). On the occasion, CEO of YEIDA, Rakesh Kumar Singh apprised them of the progress of various facilities being developed in the park.

The 350-acre Medical Devices Park, supported by the Government of India, has so far seen allotment of 101 plots. Special Executive Officer Shailendra Bhatia gave a presentation on the Common Scientific Facilities (CSF), informing that most construction will be completed by December 2026, while the Gamma Radiation Centre is expected to finish by May 2027. Secretary Amit Agrawal instructed officials and consultants to expedite the work while adhering to international norms.

He also suggested linking the park with medical and technical education, testing, and domain experts, and recommended collaboration with premier institutes like IIT Kanpur to enhance innovation, AI, and advanced technology use.

After the review meeting, Amit Agrawal and Aman Sharma conducted a site visit to assess physical progress of CSF buildings. The meeting also saw participation from Praveen Mittal, Executive Director of MDP Promotion Council, Rajendra Bhati, GM Project, Smita Singh, AGM, and representatives from several companies.
