Speaker Vijender Gupta chairs high-level meeting with Delhi Police Commissioner & Key Senior Officials of Delhi Government ahead of Historic Conference

Delhi Police Commissioner Assures Protocol and Security Officers for All State Guests at 'All India Speaker's Conference'

New Delhi– A high-level meeting was held today at the Delhi Legislative Assembly under the chairmanship of Speaker Vijender Gupta to review the preparations for the All India Speakers’ Conference scheduled on 24–25 August 2025. The meeting was attended by Delhi Police Commissioner S.B.K. Singh; Special CP Traffic  K. Jagdishan; Special CP Security  Jaspal Singh; DCP Security Manasvi Jain; Joint CP North & Central  Madhu Verma along with other key senior officials of the Delhi Government.

During the meeting, Delhi Police Commissioner  S.B.K. Singh assured  Speaker Gupta that foolproof security arrangements will be in place for the event and that no lapses will be allowed at any stage. Congratulating  Speaker for the Delhi Legislative Assembly’s initiative to host such a prestigious conference of national importance, he extended full support from the Delhi Police.

The Commissioner also shared several key suggestions for ensuring smooth operations and protocol management.  Singh informed that all guests will be accorded the status of State Guest and will be provided with dedicated Delhi Police protocol and security officers. From arrival at the airport through their accommodation at the Taj Hotel, including traffic arrangements and movement to the Assembly premises, every detail will be managed with utmost care to ensure a smooth experience for all distinguished dignitaries.

The meeting also included a joint inspection of the Assembly premises by Speaker, Delhi officials and Delhi Police officers to review on-ground arrangements. They examined venue readiness, entry and exit management, seating layouts,and emergency protocols. Discussions were also held on matters related to security of the dignitaries to ensure that the event is conducted seamlessly and in accordance with the highest standards.

This year’s Conference holds special significance as it commemorates the centenary of Vitthalbhai Jhaverbhai Patel’s historic election on 24 August 1925 as the first Indian President (Speaker) of the Central Legislative Assembly — a milestone that remains an enduring symbol of India’s democratic journey. In his lifetime, Patel was known for his impartial leadership, unwavering commitment to parliamentary dignity, and ability to rise above political divisions. His legacy continues to inspire India’s democratic institutions even today.

The All India Speakers’ Conference 2025 will be inaugurated by  Union Minister of Home Affairs  Amit Shah and will conclude with the valedictory address by Speaker of Lok Sabha  Om Birla. The event will also witness the presence of Chairman of Rajya Sabha , Chairpersons and Deputy Chairpersons of Legislative Councils and Assemblies,  Union Cabinet Ministers, and other distinguished dignitaries from across the country. A special exhibition and documentary on the life, leadership, and contributions of  Vitthalbhai Patel will also be unveiled during the event.

 Speaker Vijender Gupta stated that the Delhi Legislative Assembly Secretariat has completed all necessary arrangements to ensure the successful hosting of this landmark conference. He emphasized that the event will leave a lasting imprint on India’s parliamentary traditions and democratic values.
