Panipat, July 15, 2025 —In a landmark step toward promoting sustainable industrial growth, Union Minister for Power and Housing & Urban Affairs Manohar Lal today launched the Assistance in Deploying Energy Efficient Technologies in Industries & Establishments (ADEETIE) scheme at a national roll-out event held at Arya (P.G.) College in Panipat, Haryana.
With a substantial budgetary outlay of ₹1000 crore, the ADEETIE scheme is designed to assist Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in adopting energy-efficient technologies. It is being implemented by the Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE) under the Ministry of Power, Government of India.
During the launch, Manohar Lal emphasized the importance of energy conservation, especially within the MSME sector, which is the backbone of India’s industrial economy. He stated that technologies under the ADEETIE scheme could reduce energy consumption by 30–50%, while improving overall productivity and promoting the shift toward a low-carbon economy.
The Minister also inaugurated the official ADEETIE portal (adeetie.beeindia.gov.in) and released a brochure detailing the scheme. He highlighted that ADEETIE would support MSMEs through interest subvention loans (5% for micro & small enterprises and 3% for medium enterprises), along with technical support, energy audits, DPRs, and monitoring of implementation.
Secretary of the Ministry of Power Pankaj Agarwal noted that the scheme aims to cover 14 energy-intensive sectors such as textiles, ceramics, chemicals, food processing, forging, and paper industries, among others. It will initially roll out in 60 identified industrial clusters, with the second phase targeting another 100.
A.K. Singh, Additional Chief Secretary (Energy), Government of Haryana, encouraged MSMEs to adopt cleaner energy solutions and reduce dependence on fossil fuels. BEE Director General Akash Tripathi added that the scheme could unlock ₹9000 crore in green investments, aligning with India’s global climate commitments.
The event also featured appreciation certificates for MSMEs already participating in the pilot phase and MoUs with major industrial associations. ADEETIE marks a major milestone in India’s journey toward energy-efficient, globally competitive, and environmentally responsible industries.
