New Delhi: Dr Sahib Ram Godara, Additional Director in the Press Branch of the Haryana Information, Public Relations and Languages Department, retired on Tuesday after completing 23 years of distinguished and dedicated service. Dr Sahib Ram Godara began his career in the department on January 1, 2003, as District Information and Public Relations Officer (DIPRO). During his long service, he efficiently discharged responsibilities as DIPRO in Sirsa, Jind, Hisar, Bhiwani, Charkhi Dadri, and Fatehabad districts. Prior to joining government service, Dr Sahib RamGodara served in the Journalism departments of Guru Jambheshwar University, Hisar, and Maharshi Dayanand University, Rohtak, bringing strong academic insight to his administrative roles. He was promoted to Deputy Director in 2014. During his field postings, he played a key role in successfully organising programmes of the President, Prime Minister, and other VVIPs. On July 21, 2022, he assumed charge as Joint Director (In-Charge) of the Press Branch located on the eighth floor of the Haryana Civil Secretariat, a position he held until July 8, 2025. He was promoted as Additional Director on July 9, 2025.

As Press In-Charge, Dr Sahib Ram Godara implemented several notable reforms, including renovation of the press room, revamping of the Joint Director’s office, and introduction of an incumbency board in the Press Branch. He also ensured advance display of information related to Chief Minister’s meetings and other important programmes on notice boards, facilitating timely access for media personnel. A farewell ceremony was organised in his honour at Haryana Niwas. Additional Director (Administration) Varsha Khangwal, department officers and staff, and Dr Sahib Ram Godara’s family members were present. Speakers wished him a healthy, happy, and fulfilling post-retirement life.
