Trump Demands Release of Epstein Grand Jury Records, Calls It a ‘Democrat Scam’

Citing media reports linking him to Epstein, Trump lashes out at The Wall Street Journal, vows legal action, and demands transparency

Washington [US], July 18 :Former US President Donald Trump has called for the release of grand jury transcripts related to the late financier Jeffrey Epstein’s case, labeling the matter a “SCAM” allegedly perpetuated by the Democrats. The statement, made on Trump’s Truth Social platform on Friday, comes in the wake of renewed media attention surrounding Trump’s alleged connections to Epstein.

“Based on the ridiculous amount of publicity given to Jeffrey Epstein, I have asked Attorney General Pam Bondi to produce any and all pertinent Grand Jury testimony, subject to Court approval,” Trump posted. “This SCAM, perpetuated by the Democrats, should end right now.”

The outburst follows a report by The Wall Street Journal citing documents related to Epstein’s 50th birthday in 2003. Among the items was a note bearing Trump’s name and a sketch of a naked woman. Trump has vehemently denied writing the letter, dismissing the publication’s claims as part of a smear campaign.

Trump also threatened legal action against The Wall Street Journal, News Corp., and its executive chairman Rupert Murdoch. “The Wall Street Journal, and Rupert Murdoch, personally, were warned directly… that the supposed letter they printed… was a FAKE,” Trump said. “If they print it, they will be sued.”

According to Trump, both he and White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt informed WSJ Editor Emma Tucker that the letter was inauthentic, but the story was still published.

Leavitt echoed the allegations on X (formerly Twitter), claiming the Journal published a “hatchet job article” based on an unverifiable document. “This is like the Steele Dossier that kickstarted the Russia Hoax all over again,” she wrote, accusing the media and Democrats of coordinating a campaign to discredit Trump.

Epstein, a convicted sex offender, died in jail in 2019 while awaiting trial on charges of child sex trafficking. His connections with powerful figures, including politicians, businessmen, and celebrities, have remained a subject of ongoing public and media scrutiny.
