Piyush Goyal to Visit Israel for High-Level Talks on Trade, Technology & Investment

Union Commerce Minister to lead 60-member Indian business delegation; key focus on FTA progress, innovation partnerships, and deeper bilateral economic ties

Israel : Union Minister of Commerce and Industry, Piyush Goyal, will undertake an official visit to Israel from 20–22 November 2025, following an invitation from Israel’s Minister of Economy and Industry, Mr. Nir Barkat. The visit marks a significant step in strengthening the strategic and economic partnership between the two nations, with a strong emphasis on collaboration in trade, technology, innovation, and investment.

Goyal will be accompanied by a 60-member business delegation, facilitated by apex industry bodies including CII, FICCI, Assocham, and Start-Up India. This large delegation highlights India’s commitment to expanding commercial engagement with Israel.

During the visit, Goyal will hold several high-level bilateral meetings with key Israeli leadership. Apart from discussions with his counterpart Nir Barkat, he is expected to meet other senior ministers as well. The dialogue will focus on boosting bilateral trade, strengthening investment opportunities, and deepening cooperation in sectors such as agriculture, water technology, defence, emerging technologies, life sciences, infrastructure, and advanced manufacturing. A major highlight will be reviewing the progress of the proposed India–Israel Free Trade Agreement (FTA).

The Minister will also participate in the India–Israel Business Forum, which will feature plenary sessions, sector-focused discussions, and B2B interactions aimed at boosting joint ventures and investment partnerships. Additionally, the 4th CEOs Forum will convene prominent business leaders from both countries to explore deeper strategic collaboration.

Goyal’s itinerary includes meetings with CEOs of major Israeli companies engaged in fields such as agriculture innovation, desalination, wastewater management, cybersecurity, smart mobility, and infrastructure development. He will also interact with prominent Israeli investors.

Beyond formal meetings, the visit features tours of leading Israeli innovation hubs and technology institutions, providing insights into advancements that could complement India’s development priorities. Engagements with the Indian community and diaspora business leaders in Israel are also scheduled.

This high-level engagement is expected to significantly boost the India–Israel partnership, strengthen economic linkages, and create new avenues for cooperation across priority sectors.
