The special screening, celebrating 20 years of the film, saw several Bollywood celebrities in attendance, but it was Vidya and Rekha’s emotional reunion that captured everyone’s attention.

Despite heavy rains in Mumbai, Vidya arrived in high spirits to mark two decades of her debut film. The evening took a memorable turn when she warmly greeted Rekha, touched her feet, and kissed her hand as a mark of respect. The two icons also shared a warm hug, a moment that quickly went viral on social media.

The movie will re-release across select theatres in India on August 29, 2025, for a one-week run, giving audiences a chance to relive the romance, music, and performances that made Parineeta timeless.
