Actor and philanthropist Sonu Sood once again proved why he is admired across India for his humanitarian work. The actor recently visited Avijot, a young boy undergoing treatment for kidney disease in Punjab, who is also among those affected by the devastating floods in the state.
Sharing pictures from the hospital on his official X (formerly Twitter) handle, Sonu wrote, “Met little Avijot today in Punjab — a brave soul with a big fight ahead. We’ll do everything we can to help him heal. Wishing this little angel strength and a speedy recovery. He’s not alone.”
During his hospital visit, Sonu interacted with Avijot and his family, reassuring them of his complete support. Earlier, he had shared that the floods would not be allowed to disrupt the boy’s treatment, saying, “I’ve spoken with the family, and we’re committed to ensuring that the floods won’t interrupt his treatment.”
Apart from visiting Avijot, Sonu Sood has been on the ground in Punjab, actively participating in relief operations. On Monday, he posted photos from his visit to several flood-hit areas, writing:
“With Punjab, forever. We were on the ground. We saw the loss, the heartbreak — and the strength that refused to fade. Villages under water, lives uprooted, but hope still standing. Whatever Punjab needs, we are here. To help. To rebuild. To heal — together. With Punjab. Forever.”
Speaking to , the actor revealed his plans to cover the worst-hit areas, including Baghpur, Sultanpur Lodhi, Firozpur, Fazilka, and Ajnala. He emphasized that recovery would take several months, urging everyone to come together for the rebuilding efforts.
“This is not a work of a week or ten days. It will take at least a few months to get Punjab back on its feet. For those whose houses have been destroyed, we will try together to build some houses. I will try to reach the most affected villages,” Sonu said.
