Chhaava’ Roars Past ₹200 Crore, ‘Thandel’ Impresses with Strong Opening, Marvel’s ‘Captain America’ Yet to Release

New Delhi : Chhaava is resonating strongly at the box office, drawing audiences in large numbers. The film has been performing steadily and maintaining a firm grip on its collections. Apart from this, the cinematic magic of Captain America: Brave New World and Naga Chaitanya’s Thandel is also being seen, albeit with varying box office performances. Let’s take a closer look at how these films fared in theatres on Tuesday.

The historical epic Chhaava, starring Vicky Kaushal, Rashmika Mandanna, and Akshay Khanna, has been receiving immense love from the audience. The film’s gripping portrayal of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj’s life, coupled with grand visuals and action-packed sequences, has helped it sustain momentum at the box office.

On its fifth day in theatres, Chhaava collected ₹24.50 crore, showing minimal drop from its previous day’s earnings. With this, the film’s total box office collection now stands at an impressive ₹165 crore. Fans have been particularly praising Vicky Kaushal’s powerful performance as Sambhaji Maharaj, calling it one of his career-best roles.

Naga Chaitanya and Sai Pallavi’s Telugu-language film Thandel is also managing to hold its ground despite being in its second week. The Chandoo Mondeti directorial, based on a gripping storyline, has found an emotional connection with audiences.

On its 12th day, Thandel collected ₹1 crore, bringing its total box office collection to ₹59.20 crore. Although the film has slowed down compared to its opening week, it is still drawing audiences, particularly in the Telugu-speaking belt. If it continues its steady performance, the film could inch closer to the ₹75 crore mark in the coming weeks.

In contrast to the success of Chhaava and Thandel, Marvel’s Captain America: Brave New World has been struggling at the box office. Despite being part of the popular Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), the film has failed to generate the expected hype.

On its fifth day in theatres, the film could only manage ₹9 lakh, reflecting a major disappointment for both Marvel Studios and fans. So far, its total collection stands at ₹14.44 crore, a meager figure for an MCU film.
