After Years of Speculation, Priyadarshan Confirmed as Director for Hera Pheri 3

New Delhi : Famous filmmaker Priyadarshan has delighted fans with a major announcement—his return to the Hera Pheri franchise as the director of Hera Pheri 3. The veteran director, who helmed the original Hera Pheri in 2000, confirmed the news on Thursday, calling it his “return gift” to fans.

The Hera Pheri franchise holds a special place in Bollywood’s comedy genre. While Priyadarshan directed the first installment, the second film, Phir Hera Pheri (2006), was directed by Neeraj Vora. Over the years, fans have been eagerly awaiting a third installment featuring the iconic trio—Akshay Kumar, Suniel Shetty, and Paresh Rawal. Now, their wait is finally over as Priyadarshan himself confirmed his comeback.

The news broke in a rather special way. On Akshay Kumar’s birthday, Priyadarshan responded to the actor’s tweet with an unexpected announcement. “Thank you very much for your wishes, Akshay. In return, I want to give you a gift. I am ready to do Hera Pheri 3. Are you, Suniel Shetty, and Paresh Rawal ready?” he wrote on Twitter. This tweet instantly went viral, sparking immense excitement among Bollywood fans.

Interestingly, Hera Pheri 3 has seen several delays and speculations in recent years. At one point, there were reports that director Farhad Samji or Anees Bazmee might helm the project. However, Priyadarshan’s confirmation has now put an end to all rumors.
