Daisy Shah Opens Up on Toxic Exes: ‘He Got Mad at Me for Working With Men’

The actor said she ended both long-term relationships when they became too toxic, despite one partner being from the same industry.

Actor Daisy Shah has candidly opened up about her past relationships, revealing she dealt with toxic behavior from both of her long-term partners. In a recent conversation with Hauterrfly, Daisy shared that one of her ex-boyfriends would get upset over her working with male co-stars—even though he was part of the same film industry.

Daisy, known for her Bollywood and Kannada film work, said she tolerated “a lot of bulls**t” in both relationships because she didn’t value herself enough at the time. However, she ultimately walked away from each relationship on her own terms.

“I didn’t even think of marriage in the first relationship until four years into it. But it was complicated, and by the seventh year, I realised I wasn’t happy,” she said. In the second, she was questioned about where she was going and whom she was working with. “The best or worst part is that he also belongs to the same industry,” she added.

Daisy recalled a party incident where someone tugged her hand to dance. “You can’t get mad at that,” she said. “When the same thing happened to him, he said I should be understanding.”

Now single, Daisy says she prefers her independence over being “dependent on a man.” She has no plans to marry anytime soon and believes many men struggle to handle strong, self-assured women. While she isn’t considering motherhood at the moment, she revealed that she has frozen her eggs on a friend’s advice.

Daisy began her career assisting choreographer Ganesh Acharya and debuted as a lead in the 2011 Kannada film Bhadra. Her Bollywood break came in 2014 opposite Salman Khan in Jai Ho. She was last seen in the 2023 film Mystery of the Tattoo and the 2024 web series Red Room.
