Amaravati, June 13, 2025 – In a major move to bolster school education and support mothers, the newly formed TDP-led NDA government in Andhra Pradesh has rolled out the ‘Talliki Vandanam’ scheme, offering ₹15,000 annually for every school-going child from Class I to intermediate level. The scheme, one of Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu’s “Super Six” welfare promises, is set to benefit over 67 lakh students and 43 lakh mothers across the state.
According to Kona Sasidhar, Secretary to Government, the scheme is aimed at financially empowering mothers and guardians while enhancing learning outcomes through inclusive and accessible education. “The scheme recognizes the pivotal role of mothers in shaping children’s education and ensures their active participation,” he said in an official order.
Dubbed the “mother of all welfare schemes”, the Talliki Vandanam initiative is also positioned as part of the government’s broader strategy to encourage higher birth rates, address demographic challenges, and promote long-term population sustainability.
The scheme not only strengthens the state’s commitment to universal education and equity, but also reinforces parental involvement, especially of mothers, in educational progress.
With a clear disbursal schedule and administrative readiness, Andhra Pradesh’s ‘Talliki Vandanam’ scheme marks a significant paradigm shift in welfare delivery, combining financial support, educational reform, and demographic planning under a single flagship initiative.
