Kolkata, Jan 29,2025: The Assam government successfully organized an Investors Roadshow in Kolkata, setting the stage for the highly anticipated “Advantage Assam 2.0: Investment and Infrastructure Summit 2025.” Scheduled for February 25–26 in Guwahati, the summit aims to highlight Assam’s remarkable growth trajectory and its vast potential as a premier investment hub in South and Southeast Asia.
Addressing the gathering, Assam’s Minister of Health, Family Welfare, and Irrigation, Ashok Singhal, emphasized the state’s dynamic infrastructure development, advancements in green energy, and diversified manufacturing sectors. He highlighted Assam’s major infrastructural transformations, including the Dhubri-Phulbari Bridge and Jagiroad Electronics City, positioning the state as a frontrunner in sustainable development.
Singhal also underscored Assam’s leadership in renewable energy with projects in solar power, green hydrogen, and ammonia production. The state is fostering growth across key sectors such as electronics, pharmaceuticals, food processing, FMCG, and petrochemicals, while simultaneously evolving as a hub for IT and Industry 4.0 capabilities.
Singhal showcased Assam’s rich tourism potential, citing its cultural heritage, wildlife sanctuaries, tea gardens, and opportunities in adventure and eco-tourism. He further highlighted Bhutan’s upcoming “World Happiness City” near Assam’s border, envisioned to rival global hubs like Singapore and Dubai, creating new investment avenues.

Industries with investments exceeding Rs 100 crore and generating over 200 jobs qualify for tailor-made benefits. So far, the state has signed 21 MoUs worth over Rs 14,000 crore, attracting industry giants like PepsiCo and Dalmia Cement.
Singhal emphasized Assam’s commitment to skill development and workforce empowerment through initiatives such as the Assam Skill University, developed in collaboration with the Asian Development Bank. The state is also working with Tata Technologies and Dassault Systems to modernize ITIs and polytechnics. The upcoming Tata Semiconductor OSAT Unit, fully powered by green energy, is set to create 15,000 direct jobs, further strengthening Assam’s position in electronics manufacturing.
The roadshow saw participation from major organizations like Emami Limited, Sona Vets, Civil Engineers Enterprises Private Limited, and Godrej Agrovet Limited. Several Business-to-Government (B2G) meetings were conducted with companies across sectors including energy, infrastructure, semiconductors, textiles, IT-ITeS, and electronics.
