Jayant Chaudhary Launches Centre of Logistics Training for Excellence in Hyderabad, Calls for “Future-Ready Workforce” in High-Growth Logistics Sector

Established by Redington Foundation and LSC, the state-of-the-art centre brings simulation labs, Industry 4.0 curriculum, and technology-led skilling to boost youth employability in Telangana.

Hyderabad: Marking a significant leap toward technology-driven skilling in India’s logistics sector, the Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Skill Development & Entrepreneurship and Education, Jayant Chaudhary, inaugurated the Centre of Logistics Training for Excellence (COLTE) at the National Skill Training Institute (NSTI) Hyderabad. The centre has been established by the Redington Foundation—the CSR arm of Redington Ltd.—in partnership with the Logistics Sector Skill Council (LSC).

Addressing the gathering, Jayant Chaudhary said,
“India’s logistics sector is entering a high-growth decade, powered by the National Logistics Policy, PM Gati Shakti and unprecedented investments in multimodal infrastructure. But this transformation can only be sustained if we build a workforce that is as modern and future-ready as the systems we are creating.”

He emphasized that centres like COLTE represent the next generation of logistics skilling—industry-designed, technology-led, and aligned with real operational needs.
“As automation, digital supply chains, and new mobility models redefine the sector, skilled professionals will be the backbone of India’s competitiveness,” he added.

Advanced Training Infrastructure for Logistics Talent

The Hyderabad centre builds on the successful model of the Chennai Centre of Logistics Training for Excellence, established in January 2024. The Chennai centre achieved high-impact outcomes through AR/VR learning modules, industry-grade simulators, and strong academic-industry partnerships. Encouraged by its success, Redington Foundation scaled the model to Hyderabad, one of the country’s fastest-growing logistics hubs.

Global Chief Sustainability Officer of Redington Ltd., R. Venkatesh, said:
“The impact in Chennai reaffirmed our belief in scaling this model across India. With the Hyderabad centre, we are bringing world-class simulators, digital tools, and industry-relevant training that prepare youth for a technology-led logistics sector.”

Industry 4.0-Driven Curriculum

The Hyderabad centre features:

  • Truck driving, forklift, and warehouse simulation labs

  • Training for job roles including EXIM Associate, Warehouse Associate Executive, Forklift Operator, Supply Chain Executive

  • Curriculum co-developed by LSC and industry experts

  • Integration of Industry 4.0 concepts and emerging supply chain technologies

This approach ensures learners gain future-oriented skills matching industry expectations.

Strengthening Telangana’s Employability

With the rapid growth of warehousing, e-commerce, and supply chain networks in Telangana, the centre is expected to:

  • Significantly enhance youth employability

  • Build a scalable talent pipeline

  • Support the logistics industry with trained, job-ready professionals

The establishment of COLTE aligns with the Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship’s commitment to building a robust national skilling architecture, particularly in logistics and supply chain management—key pillars of India’s economic competitiveness.
