PM Narendra Modi Distributes Over 51,000 Appointment Letters at 19th Rozgar Mela, Reaffirms Commitment to Youth Employment

Says Young Recruits Will Play a Crucial Role in Building a Developed India; Nearly 12 Lakh Appointments Issued Through Rozgar Melas So Far

New Delhi, May 23, 2026: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday virtually distributed appointment letters to more than 51,000 newly recruited candidates during the 19th edition of the Rozgar Mela, highlighting the Government’s continued focus on employment generation and youth empowerment.

Addressing the newly appointed candidates, the Prime Minister described the occasion as a significant milestone for thousands of young Indians and their families. He said the recruits would become important contributors to the nation’s development journey as they take up responsibilities across various sectors, including railways, banking, defence, healthcare, education, and other government departments.

Modi noted that the newly inducted employees would have a vital role in advancing the vision of a developed India in the coming years. Congratulating the appointees and their families, he expressed confidence in their ability to contribute meaningfully to public service and national progress.

Rozgar Mela Reflects Government’s Focus on Youth Empowerment

The Prime Minister said that India’s youth are at the forefront of the country’s transformation and are accelerating the journey toward a “Viksit Bharat.” He emphasized that the Rozgar Mela initiative reflects the Government’s commitment to creating employment opportunities and empowering the nation’s young workforce.

According to official figures, nearly 12 lakh appointment letters have been distributed through 18 previous Rozgar Melas held across the country since the initiative was launched. The latest event further strengthens the Government’s efforts to provide transparent and timely recruitment opportunities.

Global Confidence in India’s Youth and Innovation

During his address, Modi said that India’s growing technological capabilities and youthful demographic have attracted global attention. He remarked that countries and businesses around the world are increasingly eager to participate in India’s growth story, driven by confidence in the nation’s talent and innovation ecosystem.

He added that employment generation remains a key priority of the Government and that initiatives such as the Rozgar Mela are designed to translate this commitment into tangible opportunities for young citizens.

Recruitment Across Key Ministries and Departments

The 19th Rozgar Mela was conducted simultaneously at 47 locations across the country. The selected candidates, drawn from different regions of India, will join several ministries and departments of the Central Government.

The appointments include positions in the Ministries of Railways, Home Affairs, Health and Family Welfare, as well as departments such as Financial Services and Higher Education, among others. The large-scale recruitment drive is aimed at strengthening public institutions while providing meaningful career opportunities to the country’s youth.
