Empowering Educators to Safeguard Students Online

New Delhi, November 12, 2025- In a significant step towards ensuring online safety for children, Delhi Police, in collaboration with the Indian Cybercrime Coordination Centre (I4C), Ministry of Home Affairs, and the Directorate of Education, GNCT of Delhi, organized a special workshop titled “CYBER – संवाद” at Adarsh Auditorium, Police Headquarters, Jai Singh Road.

The workshop, conducted from 11 AM to 2 PM, aimed at addressing the rising menace of cybercrimes against children and empowering school teachers with the knowledge and tools to combat these challenges effectively.

Around 350 computer teachers from various schools across Delhi participated in the session. The teachers, already well-versed in digital platforms, were trained as master trainers to further disseminate awareness among their colleagues and students in their respective institutions.

The event began with a two-minute silence in memory of the victims of the recent Red Fort car blast.

In his welcome address,  Sanjay Tyagi, IPS, Addl. CP/PRO, extended gratitude to all dignitaries and participants, presenting an overview of the session.

Delivering the keynote address, Chief Guest  Devesh Chandra Srivastva, IPS, Spl. CP/Crime & PMMC, lauded the initiative and appreciated the joint efforts of the IFSO and PRO-PMMC teams. Before the cyber awareness session, he also gave a detailed presentation on drug abuse, urging teachers to stay alert to behavioral and physical signs among students that may indicate drug use or cyberbullying.

He emphasized the critical role of educators in creating a safe environment for children and encouraged teachers to report any instances of drug abuse or suspicious activities using available helplines. “A single piece of information can safeguard future generations,” he remarked.

The workshop featured two technical training sessions led by domain experts:

  • Training Session I: Conducted by Rajneesh Gupta, IPS, Jt. CP/IFSO, who discussed the latest cybercrime trends, preventive measures, and available grievance redressal mechanisms. He also reiterated the cyber safety mantra — STOP, THINK, TAKE ACTION.
  • Training Session II: Led by Nishant Kumar, Director, I4C, who highlighted key government schemes and policies to combat cybercrime and shared best practices for ensuring students’ online safety.

Through “CYBER – संवाद”, Delhi Police aims to empower educators to act as first responders and ambassadors of digital safety within schools. The initiative reflects the joint commitment of law enforcement agencies and educational institutions to foster a secure and responsible digital environment for children.
