New Delhi -Indane, the flagship LPG brand of IndianOil, has been a trusted name in millions of Indian households for over six decades. Launched in 1965, Indane revolutionized cooking in India by providing a safe, reliable, and convenient fuel solution. As part of the “Indane Turning 60” celebrations, IndianOil organized a vibrant LPG Safety Clinic at St. Angel’s Senior Secondary School, Rohini, Delhi. The event was aimed to educate young students about safe LPG usage in an interesting fun and engaging manner.
During the program, a booklet of Amar Chitra Katha comics was distributed which was developed in collaboration with Tinkle, featuring the heroic “Indane Rhino.”. The aim of distributing the booklet was that through a fun and educational storyline, students can understand about safe LPG practices—like checking for gas leaks, using LERC-certified hoses, and ensuring proper ventilation in kitchen.
The booklet introduces students to the heroic Indane Rhino, a fun and relatable character designed to teach LPG safety practices through engaging storytelling. In the comic, Indane Rhino battles the mischievous villains “Dhoom” and “Dhadaka”, who represent carelessness and unsafe handling of LPG. By defeating them using knowledge and awareness, Indane Rhino reinforces the message that safety is the strongest shield, and knowledge is the best defence against accidents. This initiative showcases IndianOil’s innovative approach to safety awareness, combining education with entertainment to fostering a culture of safety, responsibility and care amongst young generation.
A safety quiz was also organised and over 500 students participated, and the winners were felicitated at the awards ceremony, which was attended by Chairman and Founder of St. Angel’s Sr. Sec. School and senior officers of IndianOil.

A kiosk displaying IndianOil’s product range such as Cooktop, Suraksha Hose, Apron, Cylinder Trolley, Gas Lighter etc. was also set up to give students hands-on exposure to various items used in kitchen. These products are available to customers at Indane distributorship.
This initiative reflects IndianOil’s ongoing commitment to nurturing a culture of safety and responsibility, empowering the younger generation to act as safety ambassadors in their homes and communities.
