A formidable presence of 114 companies comprising paramilitary forces and Haryana Police has been strategically deployed, aiming to ensure public safety and maintain law and order amidst the impending protest.
The call for the march, initiated by the Samyukta Kisan Morcha and the Kisan Mazdoor Morcha, seeks to assert the farmers’ demands, notably including the enactment of legislation guaranteeing a minimum support price (MSP) for agricultural produce.
According to an official spokesperson, the deployment of these companies is concentrated in districts deemed sensitive and those sharing borders with Punjab. Equipped with anti-riot gear, these forces stand ready to address any potential disturbances that may arise.
Moreover, authorities are leveraging advanced surveillance technologies such as drones and CCTV cameras to closely monitor any suspicious activities, ensuring swift intervention against miscreants.
In a statement, the spokesperson reiterated the commitment of Haryana Police to uphold peace and tranquility, urging the public to refrain from spreading misinformation through social media channels. Strict legal action awaits those found guilty of disseminating false rumors.
Citizens are encouraged to cooperate with law enforcement agencies and report any suspicious behavior to the Haryana Police helpline number-112 for prompt action.
In light of the security measures, Section 144 of the Criminal Procedure Code (CrPC) has been imposed in various districts, restricting public gatherings. Individuals are reminded to adhere to these regulations in the interest of public safety.
Additionally, travelers commuting between Chandigarh and Delhi are advised to consider alternative routes via Panchkula, Barwala, Saha, Shahbad, Kurukshetra, or via Karnal, Indri, Ladwa, Yamunanagar (NH-344), Panchkula. Similarly, for those journeying from Delhi to Chandigarh, routes via Karnal, Indri, Ladwa, Yamunanagar (NH-344), Panchkula, or Kurukshetra, Shahbad, Saha, Barwala, Panchkula are suggested.
As a precautionary measure, the public is encouraged to opt for rail travel when commuting to Punjab, considering the anticipated farmers’ march to Delhi on February 13.
