Nayab Singh Saini Urges Clean Governance and Drug-Free Punjab at ‘Punjab Bachao’ Rally in Amritsar

Nayab Singh Saini Calls for Governance Overhaul at Punjab Bachao Rally in Amritsar

Chandigarh/Amritsar, February 21: Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini on Friday called for a decisive transformation in Punjab’s governance, law and order, and social environment while addressing a large gathering at the ‘Punjab Bachao’ rally in Amritsar.

Describing Punjab as “the spiritual heartbeat of the nation,” Saini said the state’s legacy demands a future built on security, opportunity and integrity. He invoked the teachings that radiated from Harmandir Sahib, noting that the message of ‘Sarbat da Bhala’ continues to inspire millions across the globe.

The Chief Minister reminded the audience that Punjab’s soil carries the memory of immense sacrifice, referring to Jallianwala Bagh as a solemn reminder of India’s freedom struggle. He also paid homage to legendary revolutionaries including Bhagat Singh, Udham Singh, and Sukhdev Thapar, calling them eternal symbols of courage and patriotism.

“Punjab has always led from the front — in sacrifice, in service, and in spirit,” Saini said.

Shifting focus to present challenges, the Haryana Chief Minister said that raising the slogan of ‘Punjab Bachao’ reflects concern for the state’s direction. He stressed that the time has come for collective introspection — whether Punjab’s youth are being equipped with opportunity and confidence, or being dragged toward addiction and hopelessness.

He underlined the need to eliminate drug networks, strengthen policing, and restore faith in governance. Saini also highlighted the concerns of farmers facing economic strain and traders operating amid fear of extortion and instability.

According to him, Punjab deserves an environment where agriculture thrives, businesses operate without intimidation, and young people channel their energy into education, employment and nation-building.

Reiterating that Punjab is integral to India’s identity, Saini said meaningful reform must replace complacency. He called for transparent administration, accountability in public life, and decisive action to restore law and order.

“The time for change has arrived,” he told the gathering, asserting that Punjab’s progress is essential for the strength of the nation as a whole.

The rally witnessed participation from party workers and supporters who echoed calls for a secure, corruption-free and progressive Punjab.
