New Delhi, January 26, 2026: Union Minister for Labour & Employment and Youth Affairs & Sports, Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya, held an interaction with beneficiaries of the Pradhan Mantri Shram Yogi Maandhan (PM-SYM) scheme as part of the 77th Republic Day celebrations. More than 100 beneficiaries from different parts of the country, along with their family members, attended the event as special guests in recognition of their role in the unorganised workforce and their participation in the social security initiative.
Welcoming them on behalf of the Government of India, Dr. Mandaviya said the invitation was extended at the direction of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, underlining the government’s focus on inclusive governance and people-first policies. He stressed the importance of staying connected with citizens to better understand their needs and aspirations, especially those working in the unorganised sector.

Speaking about the spirit of Republic Day, the Minister referred to the renaming of Rajpath as Kartavya Path, calling it a reflection of India’s evolving democratic values and shared responsibility towards nation-building. He also pointed to several major welfare initiatives, including free foodgrain distribution to nearly 80 crore beneficiaries, expanded household access to electricity and LPG, direct income support for farmers, and scholarship programs for students. According to him, these efforts are collectively shaping a strong and prosperous India.

The PM-SYM beneficiaries shared their personal experiences, saying the scheme has provided them with a sense of financial security for their later years. Many expressed gratitude for being invited to witness the Republic Day Parade in Delhi, adding that the gesture made them feel valued and heard.
