New Delhi: Paying tribute to the victims of the Jallianwala Bagh massacre, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday remembered their sacrifice, describing it as a symbol of courage and resilience in India’s struggle for freedom.
In his message, the Prime Minister emphasised that the bravery shown by those who lost their lives continues to inspire generations and serves as a reminder of the nation’s unwavering spirit.
Alongside his tribute, he also shared a Sanskrit verse that underscores the importance of constructive efforts in nation-building. The message encouraged citizens to promote harmony, awareness and self-reliance, while standing firmly against forces that create division and unrest.
The Prime Minister’s remarks come as the country observes the anniversary of one of the most tragic events in India’s colonial history, where hundreds of unarmed civilians were killed in Amritsar in 1919.
The tribute highlighted not only remembrance of the past but also the need to uphold values that contribute to a stronger and more united society.
