India and US Close to Finalising Critical Minerals Agreement, Big Announcement Expected

NEW DELHI, March 13: Sergio Gor has stated that the United States and India are close to finalising a significant agreement on critical minerals, with an official announcement expected in the coming months.

Speaking at a major public forum, the envoy said the proposed partnership would strengthen supply chains essential for advanced manufacturing, clean energy systems and next-generation technologies. He noted that both countries are working closely to convert discussions into concrete outcomes.

According to him, the deal represents an important step toward securing reliable access to key resources that support global industries. He emphasised that cooperation in this area is not only about trade, but also about long-term economic resilience and technological advancement.

Gor highlighted that recent developments between the two nations reflect growing momentum in bilateral relations. He described the progress in trade dialogue, strategic coordination and technology collaboration as positive signs of deeper engagement.

The ambassador also referred to ongoing efforts to expand economic ties, including discussions linked to a broader bilateral trade framework. Both sides have previously outlined plans to pursue agreements aimed at enhancing market access and strengthening supply chain stability.
