Faridabad: Haryana Cabinet Minister Vipul Goel on Sunday, December 28, 2025, inaugurated the Atal Library building at Sector-12 Town Park, Faridabad, marking a significant step toward strengthening education and inclusive development in Haryana. The library is dedicated to the memory of former Prime Minister and Bharat Ratna Atal Bihari Vajpayee, a symbol of knowledge, ideas, and good governance.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by Rajya Sabha MP Surender Singh Nagar, Minister of State (Independent Charge) Rajesh Nagar, Faridabad Mayor Praveen Batra Joshi, local public representatives, administrative officials, academicians, journalists, and a large number of citizens. Addressing the gathering, Vipul Goel said the Atal Library is not merely a building but a powerful platform for knowledge, self-reliance, and equal opportunity.
He said the library is dedicated to students and youth who dream big despite limited resources and are determined to achieve their goals. He noted that Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s poetry and thoughts teach resilience and new beginnings even in difficult times, and the library stands as a symbol of such a beginning. The project, he said, is not just the fulfillment of an electoral promise but a social responsibility.

Being constructed at an estimated cost of Rs.4 crore, the modern library is a long-term investment in Faridabad’s future. He emphasized that the structure is not just brick and mortar but the foundation of young aspirations.
The minister said Vajpayee firmly believed that national development remains incomplete until education reaches the last person in society. Inspired by this ideology, the library has been named in his honor.
The Atal Library is being equipped with world-class facilities tailored to students’ needs, including fully air-conditioned reading halls, book issue-and-take-home facilities, individual study cabins, group discussion rooms, and an environment suitable for competitive exam preparation.

The ecosystem is designed to promote focus, discipline, and confidence. He said the library is especially meant for students who cannot afford expensive coaching centers or private reading rooms, ensuring that no student is left behind due to lack of resources. Referring to the National Education Policy under Prime Minister Narendra Modi, he said education is being transformed with a focus on skills, employment, and self-reliance rather than rote learning, and libraries form the strongest foundation of this system.

He expressed confidence that under Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini, the state government is faithfully advancing Atal Vajpayee’s vision of good governance. The ideas envisioned by Vajpayee and accelerated by Modi, he said, will reach every corner of Haryana, including Faridabad.

The Atal Library, he concluded, is not just a project but a decisive step toward an educated, self-reliant, and developed Faridabad, and will play a key role in building a Developed India, Developed Haryana, and Developed Faridabad.
