Chief Minister Gives Clear Instructions for Timely Completion of Development Projects

New Delhi, 27 September 2025– Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta today inspected and inaugurated several key development projects in the Shalimar Bagh assembly constituency, reiterating her commitment to public service and the overall development of Delhi. During the visit, the Chief Minister also reviewed other ongoing projects in the area and issued clear instructions to ensure that all pending works are completed on time.


Roads and Sewer Lines Get a Boost

The Chief Minister stated that all these development works are being carried out as part of the Seva Pakhwada being observed on the occasion of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s birthday. In Shalimar Bagh, she inaugurated various projects aimed at accelerating development across different blocks, including new sewer lines, dense road carpeting, semi-high mast lighting, repairs to existing sewer lines, and other essential initiatives.

According to the Chief Minister, several development projects have already been initiated in the Shalimar Bagh constituency over the past six to seven months. Today, dense carpeting work costing Rs 15 lakh was inaugurated in the GD Block, while dense carpeting on the road between DAV School was commenced for Rs 15.27 lakh. Additionally, reconstruction work is underway in the lanes from TU to MU Block, while road and sewer line works are being carried out in QU and Vaishali Blocks.

No Road Will Be Left Incomplete

Prioritising drainage and vb sewer line improvements, the Chief Minister highlighted that sewer and water line work has been completed in several blocks of Pitampura. Repair work is underway in DU, AP, KP, and other blocks for Rs 26.60 lakh. Special efforts have also been initiated to improve drainage systems and address waterlogging issues.

Emphasising the development and lighting of parks, the Chief Minister noted that five semi-high mast lights are being installed in parks across CD-GD, NU, F-1 NU, and HP Blocks for Rs 24 lakh. She further added that cleanliness and maintenance work are ongoing in all parks throughout the constituency. Regarding street lighting, the Chief Minister assured that adequate lighting would be provided across the area in time for Diwali, and solar lights would be installed to eliminate dark spots. Furthermore, traffic and street lighting issues in each block will be addressed as a priority.

The Chief Minister announced that all road, sewer, and water line works would be treated as high-priority projects, and no road would be left incomplete.
