Faridabad, January 25: It was a very proud moment for Rajesh Duggal (IPS), presently posted as Joint Commissioner of Police, Faridabad, one of the most decorated officials in Faridabad. The journey to this moment of being awarded with one of the most prestigious award is the story of his police service of over thirty years that has gradually been written by his hard work, perfection, commitment and fearless execution of duty. Duggal, we known for qualities being highly experienced, duty-bound, and courageous officer of the Haryana Police. He began his service in the Haryana Police on 09 December 1993.
Throughout his long tenure, Rajesh Duggal, IPS, has rendered outstanding and commendable service in several important areas, including maintaining law and order during agitations, protests, strikes, and political activities that includes providing security to VIPs and VVIPs.

He has been successful in managing police arrangement during Lok Sabha, Assembly and other elections as well as ensuring security during religious and cultural events and fairs. He has been on forefront in facing challenges such as prevention of heinous crimes leading to arrest of hard core criminals or taking strict action against notorious criminals. He is known for his extraordinary edge to ensure welfare of police personnel. While serving as Superintendent of Police in Jhajjar and Palwal, he carried out notable and praiseworthy action under the NDPS Act and Arms Act against accused involved in trafficking, possession and sale of narcotic drugs and illegal weapons. In recognition of his excellent work, he has been honoured with numerous awards and medals by the police department and the government from time to time.
Scrolling through the distinguished performance of Rajesh Duggal (IPS), his career has been full of meeting challenges that has been recognized by the political bosses and the seniors in department that can be very well witnessed in his postings at different crucial positions. He served as Superintendent of Police in several districts of Haryana, including Rohtak, Rewari, Jhajjar, Palwal, Panipat and Nuh. Among these, he was posted twice as Superintendent of Police in Palwal and Jhajjar. In addition, he served as Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime) in Gurugram and was posted four times as Deputy Commissioner of Police in Police Commissionarate Faridabad (Central Zone, Headquarters, and Ballabgarh Zone). He also discharged important responsibilities as Superintendent of Police Special Task Force Gurugram and in the State Crime Branch.
In the year 2024, while serving as Deputy Commissioner of Police, Ballabgarh, he was promoted to the rank of Deputy Inspector General of Police. Thereafter, he served as Joint Commissioner of Police, Gurugram, and as Deputy Inspector General of Police in the State Crime Branch, Gurugram. Since November 2024, he has been posted as Joint Commissioner of Police in Police Commissionarate Faridabad, where he holds the charge of Arms Licensing Authority, Faridabad, with an additional responsibility of taking care of Traffic Police, Faridabad.

Duggal also performed outstanding and commendable work while serving as Assistant Commissioner of Police, Udyog Vihar, Gurugram, and as Deputy Superintendent of Police, Lokayukt. On 18th December 2008, while posted as Assistant Commissioner of Police, Udyog Vihar, in Police Commissionarate Gurugram, an encounter took place with a dreaded criminal, Rajeev alias Pochu, resident of Suraj Vihar, Dadri, Gautam Buddh Nagar (U.P.), falling under the area of Police Station Rajendra Park, Gurugram, during which the criminal was killed in police action. For this exceptional courage and bravery, he was awarded the President’s Police Medal for Gallantry on the occasion of Independence Day 2010.
In addition, for his outstanding and commendable services in the police department, he was awarded the President’s Police Medal for Meritorious Service on Republic Day 2014. Further, recognizing his distinguished and unparalleled services, he has been honoured with the President’s Police Medal for Distinguished Service on the occasion of Republic Day 2026.
