CM Nayab Saini Reviews Power Infrastructure, Pushes Vehicle Scrapping Policy Implementation

Nayab Singh Saini reviews electricity pole infrastructure and the implementation of the Haryana Registered Vehicle Scrapping and Recycling Facility Incentive Policy–2024 in Chandigarh to boost road safety, investment, and eco-friendly vehicle recycling.

Chandigarh: Nayab Singh Saini, the Chief Minister of Haryana, on Saturday reviewed works related to electricity wires and poles under the Public Works Department (PWD) and state power utilities, while also assessing the implementation of the Haryana Registered Vehicle Scrapping and Recycling Facility Incentive Policy–2024 aimed at promoting a modern and eco-friendly vehicle recycling industry in the state.

During the review meeting, the Chief Minister directed officials to ensure proper distance of electricity poles along roads and instructed them to immediately remove damaged, unsafe, or unused poles to improve road safety and infrastructure efficiency.

He emphasized that electricity poles installed along roads must follow proper safety standards so that they do not pose risks to commuters or obstruct road development projects.

The Chief Minister also stressed the need for stronger coordination between departments, particularly between PWD and power corporations, to ensure faster execution of development projects and avoid delays caused by overlapping works.

In the same meeting, he reviewed various incentive schemes under the Haryana Registered Vehicle Scrapping and Recycling Facility Incentive Policy–2024, which aims to promote scientific and environmentally friendly scrapping and recycling of old vehicles across the state.

Officials informed that the policy is designed to attract investments in vehicle scrapping and recycling facilities, generate employment opportunities, and ensure environmentally responsible disposal of end-of-life vehicles.

Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister said the state government’s priority is to provide maximum facilities to citizens while ensuring optimal utilization of available resources.

“Providing better public services and ensuring efficient use of resources is the top priority of the state government,” he said.
