Lucknow, April 10 : Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has expressed deep sorrow over the tragic boat accident in the Yamuna River in Mathura district. Describing the incident as extremely saddening and heart-wrenching, the Chief Minister conveyed his condolences to the bereaved families of those who lost their lives.
In his message on the social media platform X, the Chief Minister wrote, “The loss of lives in the accident is deeply painful. I pray to Lord Rama for peace to the departed souls, strength to the grieving families to bear this loss, and a speedy recovery for the injured.”
He has directed the concerned officials to immediately reach the site and carry out rescue and relief operations at a swift pace.
He also stressed ensuring proper medical treatment for the injured.
Additionally, the Chief Minister instructed that appropriate compensation be provided to the families of the deceased as per established norms.
It is noteworthy that the accident occurred near Kesi Ghat in the Vrindavan area when a boat carrying devotees collided with a pontoon bridge and overturned in the Yamuna River.
Around 25 devotees fell into the river, of whom 15 were rescued safely, while 10 lost their lives. Most of the devotees are reported to be from Punjab.
Following the incident, police, administrative officials, and divers launched an intensive rescue operation. The administration remains alert, and relief efforts are ongoing.
