Haryana Speaker Harivendra Kalyan leads delegation of 5 Ministers, Deputy Speaker and 38 MLAs to witness Lok Sabha proceedings

New Delhi: A delegation of 38 Haryana MLAs, including five ministers and the Deputy Speaker, visited the Lok Sabha on Wednesday under the leadership of Haryana Vidhan Sabha Speaker Harivendra Kalyan. The legislators witnessed the proceedings of the House, interacted with top constitutional authorities, and toured key sections of the Parliament complex.

The delegation travelled from Haryana Bhawan to Parliament House in Haryana Roadways buses. Upon arrival, the lawmakers first met Union Minister for Power, Housing and Urban Affairs Manohar Lal and presented him a copy of the recently published Sadan Sandesh magazine of the Haryana Vidhan Sabha.

They then watched the Lok Sabha’s Question Hour, followed by a tour of the art gallery showcasing Indian culture and heritage. During the visit, the MLAs met Vice President C.P. Radhakrishnan and Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla. The Vice President held discussions with the legislators on issues related to social media, while the MLAs also held meaningful exchanges with the Lok Sabha Speaker on parliamentary processes.

Speaker Harivendra Kalyan presented Om Birla with a copy of Sadan Sandesh. The team viewed the prominent ‘Samudra Manthan’ artwork displayed in the new Parliament building, symbolizing how constructive deliberations lead to better outcomes. They also explored depictions of Lord Ganesha and Maharishi Ved Vyas, reflecting India’s intellectual legacy.

The MLAs also toured the Lok Sabha Library, where they showed keen interest in the books and archival collections.

The Speaker paid special attention to the preserved original copy of the Constitution. Haryana became the first Vidhan Sabha whose members, led by the Speaker, formally visited the Parliament and observed the functioning of the Lok Sabha.

Legislators expressed gratitude towards Speaker Harivendra Kalyan for facilitating this educational and enriching tour.

The Speaker thanked Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla for providing this opportunity, calling the day “highly enlightening” for all representatives. Deputy Speaker Krishan Lal Middha, Chief Whip Ramkumar Kashyap, Ministers Krishan Lal Panwar, Vipul Goel, Minister of State Rajesh Nagar, Mahipal Dhanda, Ranbir Gangwa, and MLAs Aftab Ahmed, Anil Yadav, Bhagwandas Kabirpanthi, B.B.
