CHANDIGARH, March 13: Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini has reassured residents that the availability of LPG cylinders, petrol and diesel across Haryana remains steady, dismissing rumours suggesting a possible shortage of fuel in the state.
Addressing concerns over the spread of misinformation, the chief minister said there is no disruption in the supply chain and sufficient reserves of fuel are available to meet public demand. He urged citizens not to believe unverified reports circulating about shortages.
The assurance came after a high-level review meeting held with officials from the state’s food and civil supplies department as well as representatives from major oil marketing companies. During the discussion, officials confirmed that fuel stocks are adequate and distribution networks are functioning smoothly.
Oil companies also informed the government that LPG deliveries are continuing regularly and that the supply system remains stable. The administration has been closely monitoring the situation to ensure uninterrupted distribution across all districts.
Authorities have also prioritised the delivery of commercial gas cylinders required for essential sectors such as hospitals, educational institutions and other critical services so that their operations remain unaffected.
To prevent misuse of the situation, the chief minister directed deputy commissioners and police superintendents to maintain strict vigilance. He instructed them to take immediate legal action against anyone involved in hoarding, illegal storage or black marketing of fuel.
The state government reiterated that there is no cause for concern and appealed to people to avoid panic buying while relying only on official updates regarding fuel availability.
